About The Position

The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for managing operating expenses, forecasting, variance analysis, and warehouse inventory for our Operations team ensuring accurate allocation and reporting across multiple operating companies and joint ventures. This role assists and supports short and long-term maintenance capital and O&M expense planning activities. In addition, this position oversees warehouse and inventory specialists across multiple locations, strengthening inventory controls for parts, tools, and critical spares. The FP&A Manager works closely with Operations management, Engineering, Accounting, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; a degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 7+ years of industry experience in gas, oil, or similar utility industry preferred; management experience is preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and high-priority tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and effectively collaborate with others to optimize team success.
  • At least two years of Experience with ERP software (Preferred Oracle NetSuite) and Maintenance Management System (Preferred Upkeep), with additional experience in Workday Adaptive, UpKeep, and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) considered a plus.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
  • Strong analytical and research skills and ability to produce results under deadlines.
  • Take initiative in leading projects and proactively seek out continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as required.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates with Operations management, project managers, and engineering teams to develop and maintain accurate budgets and forecasts for operating and capital expenditures for Operations.
  • Support the annual budget planning process and ongoing monthly forecasting.
  • Act as the financial representative for Operations on matters related to budgets, forecasts, inventory, and critical spares.
  • Perform variance analysis against budgets, forecasts, and key performance metrics, identifying trends and providing recommendations to Operations leadership.
  • Work with Operations management and project teams to ensure accurate classification and coding of expenses in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Work closely with Accounting to ensure accurate reporting of operating, capital, and consumable inventory activity in addition to timely reporting of performance variance explanations.
  • Improve efficiency and scalability through automation of reporting, forecasting templates, and financial processes.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Develop dashboards and tools that provide near real-time financial visibility
  • Track purchase order commitments and actual spend vs. budget
  • Provide leadership and oversight to warehouse management specialists across multiple locations.
  • Prepare documentation for senior management to aid in planning, prioritization and strategic decision making.
  • Develop, implement, and enforce inventory management plan, including controls for physical inventory movement and associated intercompany agreements.
  • Monitor inventory accuracy within ERP and inventory management systems.
  • Oversee cycle counts and physical inventory audits and work with Operations management and Accounting to reconcile and approve variances.
  • Facilitate recurring planning cycles to manage inventory levels, critical spares, and long-lead materials.
  • Collaborate with Procurement to establish reorder points, purchasing strategies, and inventory planning assumptions.
  • Work with Operations and Engineering teams to support critical spare and inventory requirements for new assets and compressor maintenance programs.
  • Coach, develop, and lead direct reports, providing performance feedback and professional development.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to improve existing processes and support the company’s growing operational needs.
