The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team at GEICO is seeking a FP&A Analyst II to join the Specialty Finance team. This position will prepare and analyze financial performance data to monitor variances, identify trends and provide recommendations for business partners. This role will report to the Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis and play a key role in supporting areas of GEICO that are poised to drive growth in the coming years. Collaboration, enthusiasm, a growth mindset, and ability to execute within tight timelines are essential for success in this role.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, business administration or related field with 1-3 years experience in FP&A, Finance, Accounting, or Analytics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including functions, pivot tables, and financial modeling
  • Familiarity with software such as Power BI/SQL/Snowflake
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data driven recommendations
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepares routine reports and assists in ad-hoc reporting requests of limited complexity from business leaders.
  • Prepares standard and ad-hoc models of moderate complexity.
  • Identifies drivers of variances by comparing and analyzing results to plans, forecasts, and prior year results.
  • Assists in preparation of financial dashboards and management reporting of key performance indicators using accurate and quality data.
  • Assists in the monthly analytical review of forecasting including comparisons to prior projections.
  • Maintains and updates standard reporting & analysis to support operational decisions.
  • Identifies opportunities for automation in reporting, forecasting, and analysis that drive continuous improvement in process efficiency.
  • Collaborates across FP&A teams and with business leaders to identify and evaluate strategic opportunities to drive growth and profitability.
  • Adheres to the GEICO Code of Conduct, company policies and operating principles.
  • This role has an attendance requirement within assigned business location (in office 3x per week) to perform necessary job functions and to facilitate interaction with management and co-workers.
