About The Position

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Vacuum Cast Technician I to join our 3rd shift team. In this role, you will operate and maintain vacuum casting furnaces to produce high-quality castings while supporting all functions of the casting department. This position is ideal for someone with mechanical aptitude, foundry experience, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Strong mechanical aptitude required.
  • Demonstrated good communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Must have a recent Foundry Utility certification.
  • No attendance or written quality warnings in the past year.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with applicable procedures and SOPs.
  • Meet or exceed visual acuity standards (as required).
  • Meet color perception standards required for the job (as required).
  • Complete any additional training for SOP compliance and certifications (as required).
  • Willingness to work off-schedule or alternate workweeks as needed.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card Holder).

Nice To Haves

  • Previous foundry experience is a plus.
  • Maintenance experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain vacuum casting furnaces to produce quality castings.
  • Perform all routine furnace maintenance functions.
  • Meet efficiency standards and productivity goals as established by the department.
  • Accurately record all work and relevant information in logs according to SOP requirements.
  • Support the casting department with tasks including: Basic metal prep (cutting, grinding) Cleaning mold chambers Assisting with mold prep prior to casting Burnouts, baffle preparation, and baffle changes Setting up molds inside the furnace
  • Maintain a professional, positive work environment with co-workers, supervisors, and customers.
  • Keep work areas clean, orderly, and safe, following all safety rules and procedures.
  • Complete all training requirements to achieve full certification as a Vacuum Cast Technician I.
  • Comply with all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
