About The Position

We're looking for our Founding Technical Recruiter to build our hiring engine from the ground up. You'll own the full recruiting lifecycle—from sourcing to close—for engineering roles primarily, as well as product and GTM positions at an AI infrastructure startup. This is a rare opportunity to shape the recruiting function from the ground up. You'll be a strategic partner to our founders, defining our hiring process, employer brand, and candidate experience as we scale from 4 to ♾️ engineers. About Blaxel Blaxel is AWS for AI agents. We’re building a new kind of cloud optimized specifically for the demands of agentic AI — powered by a purpose-built serverless compute engine delivering sub-25ms cold starts. We process billions of AI agent requests and power the infrastructure behind coding agents and background AI systems for top AI startups. Traditional clouds weren’t built for agentic workloads — we are. We recently raised a $7.3M seed round led by First Round Capital.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of technical recruiting experience, ideally at a high-growth startup or top-tier tech company
  • Deep understanding of software engineering roles, technical skills, and what makes great engineers tick
  • Strong ability to partner with technical leaders and influence hiring decisions
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills - you can articulate why Blaxel is a once-in-a-career opportunity
  • Data-driven mindset with experience tracking recruiting metrics and optimizing processes
  • Scrappy and resourceful - you can build recruiting processes from scratch
  • Move quickly across parallel searches and shifting priorities, staying organized and driving consistent forward progress.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven track record of sourcing and closing exceptional engineering talent in competitive markets
  • Experience recruiting for infrastructure, cloud, or systems engineering roles
  • Background recruiting at seed to Series A startups (0-50 employees)
  • Experience building employer brand through content, events, or community initiatives
  • Familiarity with infrastructure talent market
  • Experience with Ashby (ATS)

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale recruiting infrastructure from the ground up, including designing structured interview processes, and creating standardized evaluation rubrics and hiring playbooks.
  • Own full-cycle recruiting for all technical roles—from highly specialized talent to more ‘common’ engineering positions
  • Build world-class sourcing pipelines using creative strategies to find top-tier talent in competitive markets
  • Partner directly with founders and CEO to define role requirements, interview processes, and hiring strategies
  • Design and optimize our candidate experience from first touch to offer acceptance and onboarding
  • Build our employer brand through compelling storytelling, content creation, and community engagement
  • Drive data-driven recruiting by tracking metrics, analyzing funnels, and continuously improving our hiring process
  • Opportunity to work on internal HR initiatives with the Head of Ops and grow into broader responsibilities as the company scales
