About The Position

We're building the intelligent AI manager that transforms how home healthcare operates. Think of us as the nervous system for home care agencies—coordinating caregivers, managing schedules, and ensuring vulnerable populations get reliable, compassionate care around the clock. Our multi-agent platform doesn't just digitize existing processes; it creates an entirely new category of AI-powered healthcare operations. We're already helping agencies serve thousands of seniors aging at home, with technology that makes care more consistent, proactive, and human-centered. Imagine if every after-hours call to a home care agency—emergency schedule changes, caregiver call-offs, urgent client needs—could be handled instantly, accurately, and compassionately, 24/7. We've built the foundation with a live prototype that's already delighting customers. Now we need a founding engineer to help us perfect the first truly autonomous after-hours operations system for healthcare. This isn't about replacing human judgment—it's about augmenting human capability. You'll build AI that handles routine operations flawlessly while knowing exactly when to escalate to humans, ensuring vulnerable populations get the care they need around the clock. This is a product-driven founding engineering role where you'll work directly with customers, see immediate impact from your code, and own the technical decisions that make life-or-death automation trustworthy at scale.

  • 3-5 years in startup environments where you've learned to balance speed with reliability
  • Production conversational AI experience — you've shipped and operated call automation or voice agent systems that real users depend on
  • LLM production expertise — deep understanding of tool use, structured outputs, evaluation frameworks, and safety guardrails
  • Operations tooling background — you've built internal tools, QA workflows, escalation systems, or audit-friendly interfaces
  • Technical Versatility: Full-stack comfort across backend systems, LLM workflows, and user-facing applications
  • Operations translation skills — experience working with ops teams to convert chaotic real-world processes into reliable software
  • San Francisco-based and excited about in-person collaboration (minimum 3 days/week) for tight feedback loops and rapid problem-solving

  • Own the complete autonomous operations pipeline—from voice interactions to workflow execution to human escalation—ensuring no critical call goes unanswered
  • Design and implement the intelligence that determines when AI can handle situations independently versus when human expertise is required
  • Create AI That Operators Trust
  • Build the tools and integrations that power our voice agents—workflow execution engines, structured data capture, and seamless handoffs to existing systems
  • Develop monitoring, review, and audit systems that give human operators complete confidence in AI-driven decisions
  • Perfect Through Real-World Feedback
  • Create continuous improvement pipelines that learn from every call—automated testing, evaluation frameworks, and rapid iteration cycles
  • Work directly with operations teams to translate messy real-world scenarios into reliable, safety-first automation
