About Finch We believe every American household deserves access to counsel in life’s biggest moments. At Finch, we’re building the infrastructure to make justice radically more accessible. Our modern approach to consumer law automates the admin work and puts clients first, starting with personal injury. Since launching in April, we’ve grown 10x and are now powering pre-litigation for top law firms across the country. We combine expert operators with purpose-built AI to handle intake, claim opening, medical records, police reports, lien management, demands, and everything in between. We’re backed by Sequoia, Redpoint, and the founders & CEOs of generational companies like DoorDash, Ironclad, and Digits. We’re rebuilding how the law serves everyday Americans from first principles, and we’re hiring exceptional operators to help us scale it nationwide. This Role Design at Finch is foundational. The systems we build for our legal operations team, injured clients, and law firm partners must deliver clarity, empathy, and speed. We’re looking for a Founding Designer who can bring taste, velocity, and structure to messy operational problems. In doing so, you’ll work at the forefront of AI-enabled services, building a fairer future for America’s justice system. You’ll be our first design hire, partnering directly with product, engineering, and leadership to build usable, beautiful tools and experiences from scratch. This is a high-ownership, high-autonomy role for a designer who wants to be in the room where early decisions get made.

Requirements

Have 4–6+ years of experience as a product designer shipping high-ownership work
Thrive in ambiguous 0→1 environments and love designing with speed and intent
Balance taste with iteration—you know when to polish and when to move
Are a systems thinker who can untangle complex flows and make them intuitive
Can flex across product, brand, and visual design as needed
Care deeply about making complicated systems feel simple and human
