The gap no one has filled Every complex system in America has a profession whose job it is to be your trusted guide and expert. You have a lawyer for legal. An accountant or Turbotax for taxes. A financial advisor for your money. A travel agent or Expedia for your trip. Healthcare, a trillion-dollar industry that’s arguably the most complex and touches every single family, leaves us on our own. Hera is creating a new profession in healthcare: the Hero — a dedicated senior care expert for your family. They focus on the “last mile” of healthcare. Our Heroes educate, coordinate, and advocate for the most vulnerable and most expensive population to the healthcare system. Not just getting a kidney transplant, but getting Barbara to her follow up appointment to keep her out of the hospital again. Not just getting the home aide in place, but ensuring they’re taking care of Beverly the right way. Not just bringing John home from the hospital post-stroke, but devising a long-term plan so he can age at home. We’re doing this covered by insurance to ensure we can serve every family in America that needs us. Aging is a universal, human experience we all will face, and we all deserve to face it with dignity and support. Our brand promise We are in the business of trust. Hera’s brand promise is simple: care that would only be great enough for our own parents. This promise is our moat. It’s what physicians refer to, families buy, what Heroes deliver, and what the product must unlock and enforce at every touchpoint. The supply challenge and our biggest bottleneck There aren’t enough experts to serve every family who needs us. The bottleneck isn’t demand, it’s supply. Today we need our Heroes to have years of social work or nursing expertise, the ability to build trust and the operational excellence to execute quickly. This is rare. Only 1 in every 200 social workers we interview becomes a Hero. But that’s not enough Heroes for every family in America to have one. In order to scale to all of America, we need to unbundle expertise from the human and broaden the aperture of who can become a Hero. Anyone that can foster human connection should be able to become a Hero with Hera. In that world, our supply challenge becomes how we uphold quality across every human touch point with our customers. Join our Apollo Unit to do hard things with us We are looking for an ambitious and relentless generalist problem solver to join us on this mission. At other companies this role is often called Business Operations and Strategy. We call it Apollo Unit, drawing inspiration from the mythological figure, to represent the team ethos — surgical execution, relentless truth seeking, and obsession with greatness. You will go where Hera needs you the most, often into unknown terrains, and figure things out. Build the Hero growth engine. Launch new markets. Design systems to uphold quality. Build technology that feels human when humans are getting displaced by technology. Our entire team believes truth is in the field. This means we are side by side with our Heroes everyday, learning what it takes to do the job and do it well. We are high autonomy and trust. There is no space for micromanagement, if you see a problem or think of a solution, you are empowered to run at it wholeheartedly and know that the team has your back. We are creative in our bones. For the first time in many years, we are seeing the genesis of a new profession of a profound scale and importance; it’s on us to define what it can and should look like. When you solve a hard problem, you will know that you’ve empowered some of the most selfless members of our society to tangibly impact the lives of some of those most in need. You will also be rewarded with harder problems. Our promise is we will stretch your limits, and trust you to own unreasonably substantial outcomes. If this excites you and these values speak to you, let’s talk: [email protected]. In a world of growing cynicism we chase hard truths, give a damn, and build. About the current team You’ll be building Hera alongside co-founders Jenny, Myles & Connie as well as founding team member Isabella, Sasi, Dan. Jenny, Connie, Isabella & Dan were in the trenches together building Headway (now the largest mental health platform in America) while Myles, Sasi & Connie all came from Palantir, all resonating with a personal tie to this mission. We closed a sizable seed round led by Accel and have since gotten to seven-figure GMV with organic distribution through channel partners: geriatricians and social workers from Weill Cornell, NYU Langone and Mt Sinai. The customer feedback is the most positive our team has seen in our careers. Read our story and watch our launch video here. We are in person in NYC.
