About The Position

We're protecting and enhancing America's National Park System for present and future generations. National Parks Conservation Association (NPCA), the nation’s oldest and largest national parks nonprofit advocate, has an exciting opportunity for a FOUNDATION RELATIONS INTERN. As a summer intern on the Foundation Relations team within NPCA's development department, the intern will play a vital role in advancing our mission. The intern will dedicate approximately 60% of their time to updating our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and ensuring database hygiene, maintaining accurate, current records that are essential to our team's operations. The remaining 40% of their responsibilities will focus on conducting prospect research to uncover potential funding opportunities. This role offers hands-on experience in CRM management and prospect research, contributing to our team’s efforts to protect the National Park system during a critical time. Location: Remote Schedule: Flexible/part-time; 10-15 hours per week Compensation: $1,000 Stipend Tangible deliverables that will be achieved: During this remote internship, the intern will build skills in nonprofit development, CRM systems, database management, and ensuring data hygiene and integrity which are critical to nonprofit success. They’ll also gain experience in grants, prospect research, and evaluating potential foundations and funding sources. Beyond technical skills, the intern will collaborate with a dedicated, passionate team, offering them the chance to make a tangible difference in the ongoing effort to protect and preserve our national parks. Preferred Qualifications: Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Outlook Prior research experience and strong communication skills (written and verbal) Prior CRM or database experience a plus, but not required Current or recent college graduate (within one year of graduation) Physical Effort and Dexterity: While performing the duties of the job, the employee is typically required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear.
