About The Position

This position is responsible for leading foster home recruitment and retention activities and implementation of strategies throughout Palm Beach and Broward Counties. The items listed below are intended to provide an overview of the essential functions of the job. Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in child welfare and/or foster home management, recruitment and retention, or licensing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in social work, Psychology, Mental Health or related field.
  • Ability to make complex decisions and balance the needs of stakeholders involved.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking to groups.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft suite programs and experience using Excel for data management.
  • Ability to be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Child Welfare as a foster or adoptive parent preferred.
  • Marketing and/or public relations experience preferred.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the foster recruitment hotline and ensure timely responses.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement ChildNet’s foster home recruitment and retention plan organization and system-wide.
  • Lead strategic initiatives toward increasing foster home capacity
  • Partner with other ChildNet departments and sub-contacted Child Placing Agencies to implement and monitor recruitment and retention activities
  • Collect, maintain, analyze, and report relevant foster home recruitment data. Identify trends and patterns to direct recruitment efforts.
  • Provide leadership, support, and technical assistance to subcontracted Child Placing Agencies in their recruitment and retention efforts.
  • Coordinate presentations and information sessions in the community related to the need for foster parents and attend recruitment/retention related community events.
  • Lead, attend, and participate in meetings as assigned.
  • Maintain current knowledge of issues, trends, and developments relevant to their area of expertise in child welfare practices to ensure compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
