What your day looks like You’ll start by aligning with the Technical Director and the commercial team on priorities, then head to the bench to synthesize and analyze both routine and developmental products. Your work will span literature exploration, bench-scale formulation, and hands-on analytical testing (FTIR, GCMS, HPLC). As projects mature, you’ll own the journey from lab results to pilot trials and full plant scale-up—partnering closely with operations and providing technical and plant support when needed. Your impact Lead laboratory syntheses and analyses for existing and new products under guidance from the Technical Director, the commercial team, and other senior leaders (SLT). Mine literature to inform innovation and contribute to new product development within Polyventive’s Technology Department. Contribute independently and as part of cross-functional teams; prepare technical documentation that moves projects forward. Translate lab results into pilot batches and full manufacturing scale; take ownership from project kickoff through plant scale-up and aspire to technical leadership within the group. Provide technical and plant support as required; participate in and lead meetings for new product introductions and MOC’s. Model safety and good housekeeping; maintain a clean, compliant lab environment. Guide R&D and QC technicians as needed to achieve project goals. What you bring Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent blend of education and training. 3+ years in surfactant and polymer synthesis/formulation/structure–activity, with experience across at least two areas: textiles, HI&I, O&G, adhesives, or coatings. 3+ years using analytical tools such as FTIR, GCMS, HPLC. Strong computer literacy, plus clear, professional communication and interpersonal skills. Where you’ll work Expect a collaborative, safety-first environment where experimentation is encouraged and scale-up is a team sport. You’ll interface with scientists, engineers, technicians, and commercial partners to translate chemistry into real-world performance.
