About The Position

Administrative Assistant for Formation Director + Purpose Assist the Formation Director to coordinate and support in the area of formation and discipleship ministries at Sanctuary Covenant Church. This is a part-time role up to 30 hours a week and reports to the Formation Director. + Essential Job Functions: Admin, Coordination, Support Provide administrative support for the Formation Director Champion the administrative oversight of the Formation Discipleship Pathway, which includes Sanctuary Community Groups (SCG), Belief Matters, Membership Matters, New Member Induction, and Baptism including Celebration Sundays Support SCG team events as they live out the Sanctuary 5 (Connect, Grow, Serve, Give, Invite) Oversee Formation coordination through Planning Center database administration Maintain calendar of events for Formation area, including schedule coordination for Formation Director Collaborate with other admins for connection, strategy, planning, and development + Expectations and Basic Qualifications A demonstrated faith and lifestyle commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ A love for people and a deep desire to see them grow in relationship with Jesus Christ Meet regularly with supervisor for prayer, planning, care, and accountability Meet with Sanctuary staff team at weekly meetings, annual planning days, and all staff development opportunities Must be able to work some events and weekends based on the seasonal needs of the ministry High school diploma or GED 2-3 years of demonstrated, relevant experience, paid or volunteer Previous experience working with non-profits and/or faith-based organizations Commitment to the mission, purpose, vision, & core values of the Sanctuary Covenant Church and the Evangelical Covenant Church; Member of or open to seeking membership at Sanctuary Covenant Church Adherence to staff affirmations and ethical principles as stated in the staff handbook Perform other duties as assigned by Formation Director

Requirements

  • A demonstrated faith and lifestyle commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ
  • A love for people and a deep desire to see them grow in relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Meet regularly with supervisor for prayer, planning, care, and accountability
  • Meet with Sanctuary staff team at weekly meetings, annual planning days, and all staff development opportunities
  • Must be able to work some events and weekends based on the seasonal needs of the ministry
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated, relevant experience, paid or volunteer
  • Previous experience working with non-profits and/or faith-based organizations
  • Commitment to the mission, purpose, vision, & core values of the Sanctuary Covenant Church and the Evangelical Covenant Church; Member of or open to seeking membership at Sanctuary Covenant Church
  • Adherence to staff affirmations and ethical principles as stated in the staff handbook
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, especially across lines of race, ethnicity, gender, and socio-economics
  • Strong gift for administration, organization, and strategic planning and ability to multitask
  • Excellent skills in Google Office Suit, MS Office Suite and willing to learn and utilize other organizational/communication tools
  • Exceptional standards regarding accuracy and attention to detail
  • Excellent event planning skills
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate and complete tasks and projects within a given timeline
  • Strong aptitude for process improvement, problem solving, and creativity
  • Ability to be flexible and respond/adapt to changing priorities
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently independently as well as within a team structure
  • Ability to type 45 wpm

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for the Formation Director
