The lumber yard – forklift operators work outdoors loading and unloading rail cars and flatbed trailers. This position is ideal for individuals who are dependable, able to lead with minimal direction, adaptable to changes as they arise, and who enjoy working outdoors year-round. The lumber yard – forklift operator reports directly to the site supervisor and is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position. Hours of operation: Monday – Friday, 7 am – 5 pm Starting Pay is $19.25
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent (preferred)
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- 1 year Lumber Yard Experience
- 1 year’ Large Forklift (10k or higher) Experience
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs. unassisted
- Must be able to walk, bend, lift, and stand throughout the duration of the shift
- Must be flexible with working in multiple site locations
- Pre-hire Drug Screening Required

- Rail car Experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Operate 5K, 10K and 15K Forklifts
- Load lumber onto flatbed trailers
- Move and stack materials
- Move rail cars on the line
- Strap products into gondolas
- Fall Protection Certification
- Unstrap and secure rail cars
- Unload box cars
- Receive and process shipments
- General housekeeping duties in production areas
- Comply with and adhere to all safety policies and regulations
- Perform proper forklift inspections and adhere to all forklift operating guidelines and procedures
