SUMMARY Operate lift truck to move compound and extruded moulding between production area and staging areas while supplying production area with needed materials. Lift truck operators must complete the Company’s lift truck training within one month of accepting the position.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and six to twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Count and enter data into computer system.
  • Communicate in writing and orally with supervisor, lead, and other employees.
  • Write simple correspondence and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.

Nice To Haves

  • Lift truck and material handling experience including counting material and entering data into computer system preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Move compound hoppers from staging area to production area and place on blending towers.
  • Move empty and partial hoppers from production area to staging area .
  • Supply department with needed materials (i.e. u-racks, plywood, cardboard, plastic, bottoms, etc.)
  • Complete required documentation of extruded material and place on units.
  • Move extruded materials from the production line to staging area with proper documentation.
  • Separate scrap material by color and move to staging area, weigh and keep record.
  • Empty production area waste hoppers in external waste collection bins.
  • Ensure lift truck is in operating condition.
  • Perform preventive maintenance as needed.
  • Keep area clean and orderly.
  • Maintain level of quality consistent with established standards.
  • Comply with established safety rules and use required safety equipment.
  • Comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain constructive working relationships with co-workers, leads, supervisors, and managers.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with company policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to the satisfaction of the supervisor and/or lead.
