About The Position

This position is responsible for assembling and preparing outgoing loads of materials for delivery, ensuring they are accurate, secure, and ready for transport. Key duties include reading and interpreting order tickets, selecting and staging the appropriate materials, operating forklifts and other equipment to load trucks safely, and double-checking orders for accuracy. The load builder also ensures that loads are balanced and comply with safety standards to prevent damage during transit.

Requirements

Previous warehouse and forklift experience
Solid organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to read and interpret orders and invoices
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions
Ability to multi-task in fast paced environment.
Experience working in a team atmosphere.
Ability to lift 75-100 pounds consistently
Must take and pass drug test and consent to a background check

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of dimension lumber, panel products, and other building materials is preferred

Responsibilities

Use forklift to build outgoing orders for lumber and building materials.
Use forklift to load or unload completed orders onto delivery equipment maintaining safe procedures and stacking methods.
Double checking all loads for accuracy and ensuring that they are thoroughly secured for delivery.
Follow safety procedures as outlined by company safety program and operator manual for forklift.
Keep all areas stocked and neat to facilitate efficient load building processes.
Keep management aware of any delays or discrepancies.
Treat all customers and coworkers in a helpful and professional manner, providing excellent customer service.
