About The Position

Job Summary: The Forklift Operator will safely provide timely, efficient loading, unloading, and inventory movement services. Job Description Essential Functions Loading, unloading, and movement of all materials for plant and warehouse operations that requires the use of the fork lift. Checking the proper stacking, wrapping, and banding of any materials on skids to ensure its safe transport and storage. Using safety when operating a fork lift and pallet jack and follow all safety procedures and policies. Check incoming product for accuracy in wrapping and labeling as necessary. Lifting of boxes and other materials up to 75 pounds. Inspecting engine oil level and other fluid levels to ensure proper engine performance daily and completing a daily inspection sheet before operating a tow motor. Cleaning fork lift daily, especially dust from the radiator – this must be done daily. Coordinating storage of materials with warehouse personnel. Be knowledgeable of and comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as legal requirements, at all times. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Regular, reliable attendance, as defined in Goodwill’s attendance policy. Other duties as assigned by management including unloading trailers by hand.

Requirements

  • Education None.
  • Experience No experience necessary.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and to work as a team member.
  • Ability to drive a fork lift safely and follow all safety regulations and policies.
  • Must have the ability to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must have knowledge of proper methods of lifting, pushing, and pulling materials.
  • Must be able to learn the techniques of the job from short demonstration up to and including one month.
  • Must be able to read and do basic math (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
  • Goodwill Fork lift certification is required.
