About The Position

Interfor is seeking a safety-minded, skilled, and motivated Forklift Operator to join our team in Monticello, Arkansas in our Shipping Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a forklift to move, load, and organize products throughout the mill, supporting efficient and smooth production operations. The pay rate for this position is $22.74 per hour.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/Equivalent preferred.
  • Forklift certification or the ability to obtain certification through a standard training course.
  • Minimum of 2 years of forklift experience.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
  • Ability to respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations, following established procedures.
  • Physical Requirements: Walking, standing, sitting, climbing stairs, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts safely in compliance with all Interfor, OSHA, and MOPED safety standards and guidelines.
  • Move inventory and materials across company facilities, stacking and organizing large bulk items efficiently.
  • Work collaboratively with team members to load and unload materials safely.
  • Update inventory activity, logs, lists, and records accurately.
  • Identify damaged materials or replacements needed and report appropriately.
  • Address and clean up any spills or safety hazards before leaving the shift.
  • Perform daily pre-shift forklift inspections to ensure equipment is safe and operational.
  • Clean forklifts regularly using a pressure washer and assist with preventive maintenance tasks, including tire changes.
  • Follow all safety policies, job safety analyses, and standard operating procedures to prevent injuries and avoid damage to mill property.
  • Must be able to safely climb on top of railcars and be comfortable working in elevated areas.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or mill management.
  • Be available for occasional weekend work as required.
