About The Position

The Forklift Operator plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient and safe movement of materials within a warehouse or distribution center. This position is responsible for operating various types of forklifts and material handling equipment to load, unload, and transport goods to designated locations. The operator must maintain accuracy in order picking and inventory management while adhering to safety protocols to prevent accidents and damage. This role supports overall warehouse operations by facilitating timely order fulfillment and maintaining organized storage areas. Ultimately, the Forklift Operator contributes to the smooth flow of goods, supporting supply chain efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification or license in accordance with OSHA standards.
• Proven experience operating forklifts and related warehouse equipment.
• Basic understanding of warehouse safety protocols and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret order sheets and use RF scanning devices.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting and standing for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Reach truck, stand-up forklifts, and Cherry Picker.
• Familiarity with general warehouse operations and inventory management systems.
• Previous experience in order picking and shipping/receiving processes.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic computer skills for logging and tracking inventory data.

Responsibilities

• Operate forklifts, electric pallet jacks, stand-up forklifts, and clamp trucks to move materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse.
• Load and unload goods from trucks, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Perform order picking using RF scanners and pallet jacks, accurately selecting items according to shipment requirements.
• Inspect equipment daily to ensure it is in safe working condition and report any maintenance needs promptly.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to all safety guidelines and warehouse procedures.
