Under general supervision, this role ensures the safe and accurate receipt, storage, and shipment of food products using various equipment including sit down and stand up forklifts, stand up straddle trucks, walk behinds, pallet jacks, double pallet jacks, and radio frequency equipment. Up to 25% of the job involves assisting the Supervisor in coordinating workflow, recommending work assignments, training other associates, ensuring on-time completion of tasks, and ensuring compliance with safety and work procedures. This includes directing the work of others, reviewing schedules and daily plans with the supervisor, and advising on any issues during the shift. Key responsibilities also include loading and unloading freight, moving and stacking products in storage, picking and assembling orders for shipment, and checking freight for accuracy, damage, or infestation. The operator is responsible for maintaining warehouse security, conducting operations safely, participating in physical inventories, and performing labeling, sorting, wrapping, packing, and repacking. Safe and efficient operation of equipment, reporting malfunctions, complying with OSHA standards, meeting production standards, and maintaining a clean work environment are essential. Charging or changing forklift batteries as needed is also part of the role, and other duties may be assigned.
