About The Position

The Forklift Operator I is responsible for safely operating forklifts and pallet jacks to stage, move, store, and retrieve materials throughout warehouse operations. This position requires frequent walking and standing for extended periods while supporting production, shipping, and receiving activities. The role also involves regular communication and customer service interactions with production teams, warehouse staff, drivers, and internal customers to ensure timely and accurate material movement. A strong focus on safety, accuracy, and teamwork is essential.

Requirements

  • Ability to work Monday through Thursday, 7:00am-5:30pm, overtime as needed.
  • High school diploma or TABE equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 year of forklift operating experience
  • Ability to safely operate heavy warehouse equipment
  • Strong basic math skills
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds repetitively
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods throughout the work shift
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Computer literate, with experience using warehouse management systems preferred

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts and pallet jacks safely and efficiently in warehouse, dock, and production environments, including congested areas
  • Perform significant walking throughout warehouse facilities to locate, stage, verify, and move materials
  • Ensure all inventory transactions are completed accurately and timely in the Warehouse Management System (WMS)
  • Meet established performance standards for productivity, volume, and accuracy
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with production teams, supervisors, drivers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate material movement and priorities
  • Provide responsive internal customer service by ensuring timely pick-up, delivery, and staging of materials and finished goods
  • Move materials accurately between bin locations
  • Store raw materials and finished products according to warehouse location standards
  • Load and unload trailers and containers safely and efficiently
  • Pull, stage, and deliver product to Production in a timely manner
  • Pull, issue, and un-issue dry materials accurately based on production requirements
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of dock areas, warm-up rooms, freezer warehouses, dry storage, and corrugate warehouses
  • Identify and communicate inventory discrepancies, damages, or safety concerns to leadership
  • Comply with all company safety policies, quality standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), HACCP requirements, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Perform other duties as assigned
