About The Position

The Forklift Operator 1 is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other powered industrial vehicles to move, load, unload, and stage materials throughout the facility. This role supports production, shipping, and receiving operations while ensuring materials are handled safely, accurately, and in accordance with company policies and safety standards.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Ability to obtain and maintain forklift certification
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and shipping documents
• Basic math and record-keeping skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Previous forklift operation experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment preferred

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts to transport raw materials, work-in-process, and finished goods
• Load and unload trucks, trailers, and storage areas
• Stage materials accurately to support production schedules and shipping requirements
• Verify materials, quantities, and documentation for accuracy and quality
• Inspect loads and report damaged or non-conforming materials
• Perform daily forklift inspections and maintenance and report mechanical or safety concerns
• Follow all OSHA regulations, safety guidelines, and company policies related to powered industrial equipment
• Maintain accurate inventory movement records and documentation as required
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production teams, and shipping/receiving staff
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
• Assist with other duties as assigned
