About The Position

BASIC FUNCTIONS: PRIMARY: To use a forklift to load trucks and move material about the Plant in a timely and efficient manner. To support the Shipping Supervisor in general, as needed. PRINCIPAL DUTIES: Receive and unload incoming trucks efficiently and safely. Verify Shipments against packing lists and document any discrepancies. Receive purchase orders (PO's) into the system accurately. Apply appropriate load tags to all received units. Organize and store pallets in designated bin locations, updating system records accordingly. Conduct weekly cycle counts and report any discrepancies to SupplyOne management. Forklift Operations & Safety Operate forklift to move material about the warehouse Operate Forklift in a safe manner at all times, especially during lifting, backing or when traveling around corners When in motion always keep the load as close to the ground as possible to maintain a low center of gravity Do not allow any untrained personnel to Operate the forklift Do not allow passengers to ride in the driver area, on the forks, or on top of any items being moved. There should be no passengers at any time for any reason Never lift items over employees or in such a fashion as the load could fall off onto an employee or equipment When lifting materials, be careful to slide the forks under the material without damaging it Do not drag the forks on the floor while in motion Never lift items which are beyond the weight and / or physical dimensional capacity of the lift, items which are too tall or material which is strapped/bundled in an improper fashion When stacking items, never make the stack so high that it may fall over and cause an accident or injury Drive the forklift in designated areas only Be aware of forklift speed Make sure that trucks are secured before moving forklift Make sure that dock-board is firmly in place Make sure that the forklift is turned off, and stored properly when not in use Train newer Operators as required

Requirements

  • Must pass a physical and drug screening.
  • Must have a forklift certification.
  • Must have acceptable levels of vision and hearing.
  • Must be able to read and write in English.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Must understand basic math skills (addition, subtraction, fractions).
  • Able to manipulate and use CRT/screens, keyboards, mouse/pointing devices, etc., associated with contemporary computers.
  • Able to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Able to navigate two flights of stairs without harm.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds unaided.
