THE ROLE The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for safely executing the varied responsibilities of receiving goods, inventory of goods, and meeting the delivery schedule. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Load and unload shipments and deliveries of coils, strut, pallets, etc. Weigh, mark, and store coils properly. Stage raw materials using a forklift to the mill and welding machines. Verify delivery bills and verify product received. Ensure labels and paperwork are accurate for incoming and outgoing loads. Confirm accuracy and quality of all loads being shipped or received. Pick and pack items, ensuring products are safe and undamaged. Perform quality checks and audits. These checks and audits must be conducted prior to product being shipped to customers. Prepare shipping documentation, by weight, piece count, and freight classification of all products. Prepare & stage shipments as needed (re-bundling, plastic wrap, labeling, etc.). Recognize and address compliance issues such as overages, shortages, damaged products, packaging issues and incorrect parts. Identify and count various products (i.e., strut, hardware, threaded rods, etc.) for accuracy purposes. Maintain cleanliness of area according to 5S principles to provide a safe and effective working space. This is a full-time position. Associate must be able to work overtime as needed and must also be able to occasionally work on the weekends as necessary. This role typically works Monday – Friday. Support and provide input for continuous improvement activities. Support with on-the-job training for other inventory control associates. Support in all areas as needed and requested by supervisor or another member of the management team.
