Forge Supervisory RN Purpose Statement: The Forge Supervisory RN serves to support and strengthen the health and well-being of students, staff, and the broader school community by providing skilled nursing oversight, guidance, and care. This role exists to ensure safe, consistent, and compliant health practices across the Forge program, while leading with compassion, professionalism, and a heart for ministry. The Supervisory RN partners closely with school leadership, staff, and families to promote a healthy environment that allows students to thrive academically, physically, and spiritually, while upholding all applicable healthcare standards and organizational policies.

  • Holds a current and valid Registered Nurse license in the State of Colorado required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications
  • Demonstrates a high level of discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and medical information
  • Committed to providing excellent service and willing to go above and beyond in support of students and the school community
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and make informed decisions regarding student health plans

Nice To Haves

  • 1 to 3 years of pediatric nursing experience preferred
  • 1 to 3 years of emergency or acute care nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for health-related questions and act as a liaison with local and state health officials
  • Oversee all Forge health care protocols for staff and students, ensuring consistency and compliance
  • Conduct annual staff training on bloodborne pathogens, CPR, first aid, and related health and safety topics
  • Provide direction, training, and required supervision to unlicensed assistive personnel (UAP) performing delegated services, including medication administration and monitoring of students with specific health conditions
  • Manage medication inventory, including budgeting, storage, and compliance
  • Utilize FACTS to accurately document nursing care, first aid, student medical conditions, parent communication, and screening data
  • Ensure student health information is maintained in compliance with Family Educational Right to Privacy Act (FERPA) and HIPAA requirements
  • Provide oversight and support to the Health Aide in scheduling, conducting, and recording annual hearing and vision screenings
  • Ensure the Quality and Accessibility of School Health Services: Respond to Disasters and Assist Communities in Recovery: Contain the Spread of Disease:
  • Assess the Health of the School Community:
  • Partner with the Health Aide to identify students requiring health accommodations or modifications in the school setting or during school sponsored activities
  • Develop, implement, review, and update Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) for students with medical needs
  • Oversee first aid services and provide triage for physical and mental health concerns in accordance with established protocols
  • Monitor and review student accident and incident reports for trends and follow up needs
  • Communicate relevant health and wellness information to school leadership and the broader community as appropriate
  • Contain the Spread of Disease:
  • Monitor and support compliance with immunization requirements in accordance with Colorado regulations (6 CCR 1009-2)
  • Implement appropriate disease prevention and control measures (6 CCR 1009-1)
  • Assist in policy development and provide recommendations aligned with public health laws (6 CCR 101-6)
  • Provide education on infectious and communicable diseases
  • Participate in crisis response planning and response teams
  • Serve as a liaison with public health departments during emergency situations
  • Align school health programs with applicable national and state standards
  • Complete and submit required annual reports to state and local agencies (6 CCR 1009-2)
  • Maintain regular communication with Forge Leadership as necessary
  • Review parent feedback related to health services and identify areas for improvement
  • Participate in an annual performance review conducted by the Head of School
