About The Position

This position is part of the Parks Forestry Division and is responsible for the maintenance of all public landscape beds throughout the community that includes the design, installation and maintenance of annual floral beds. The work is accomplished by trash pickup, leaf cleanup, mulching, planting, weeding, watering, fertilizing and pruning or rejuvenating shrubs, grasses or trees. The position is also responsible for the minor repair and maintenance of irrigation systems in the landscape beds and manages the maintenance of vehicles, water pumps, tillers, weed-eaters, hedge trimmers and leaf blowers. Duties will also include managing municipal greenhouse operations and helping oversee tasks of seasonal staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma
• Three (3) years of progressive horticulture experience
• OR
• Any combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the job
• AND
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
