About The Position
The Village of Mount Prospect is accepting applications for the position of Forestry Intern. Employment is for summer 2026. The position performs a variety of arboriculture tasks associated with the maintenance of the Village’s approximately 24,000 parkway trees.
Requirements
- Qualified candidates will have excellent tree identification skills and one or two years of college level training in arboriculture or related field.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- update of the computerized tree inventory
- scouting for disease
- responding to service requests
- hazard tree evaluation
- working with municipal forestry crews
