FTE: 1, Shift: Day, Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm Position Summary The Mental Health Advocate provides supportive counseling and case management services to adult behavioral health clients under the direction of a licensed professional. Supportive counseling may include symptom management and skills training using behavioral principles and a structured session approach. Case management includes care coordination, resource identification and development, advocacy, service monitoring and follow-up, collateral supports. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $24.58 - $35.36 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align. Requirements

  • Must obtain Washington State Agency Affiliated Counselor registration within 90 days of placement in job, unless a higher credential is held
  • Driver License/Abstract

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience working with seriously and persistently mentally ill adults or in a Behavioral Health setting preferred

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a consumer advocate in relation to the mental health system, community agencies, and the consumer’s support system, as needed.
  • Provides person-centered supportive counseling, assessment of needs/risk, skills training, advocacy and case management for clients
  • Assists in developing problem-focused, goal-oriented treatment plans which address the specific needs of the consumer and specific anticipated clinical outcomes.
  • Provides comprehensive community support activities to assigned caseload, including assistance in identifying and utilizing community resources, liaison with other agencies and organizations, referral to appropriate community programs, completion of all necessary reports.
  • Maintains consumer records in keeping with Agency, County, and State guidelines.
  • Coordinates discharge planning, including referral to appropriate agencies for ongoing needs.
