About The Position
Directs the activities of a group or team of shop employees involved in a specific production, repair or material handling process in order to meet Company quality and safety standards within production schedules, in the most cost-effective manner. Supervises general hourly employees, Track Mobile Operators, welders, painters, etc. Works under the general direction of a plant superintendent, plant manager or other management position.
Requirements
- Considerable knowledge of plant operations, with particular emphasis on operations flow, department layouts.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints or work objectives.
- Ability to effectively plan work procedures, equipment, material and manpower needs.
- Ability to effectively build and lead a productive work group; and to perform as a member of a management team.
- Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
