About The Position

Hands-on working lead. You drive safe, efficient execution of rigging and machinery-moving tasks—uncrating, setting, anchoring, leveling, and moving equipment—while coordinating with the superintendent/PM, owners, and other trades. You run the crew, own the day plan, and keep the paperwork clean.

Requirements

  • 4+ years rigging/machinery moving or heavy millwright experience, 1+ year leading crews.
  • Demonstrated work in high-spec environments (data center, pharma/GMP, semiconductor, or similar).
  • Practical knowledge of rigging math (CG/COG, load factors, D/d, sling angles), cribbing/shoring, and ground loading.
  • Competent operator/signalperson with forklifts/telehandlers and Versa-Lift class lifts; directs crane picks with qualified operators.
  • Able to read construction drawings, rigging plans, and basic P&IDs; solid hand-radio/hand-signal communication.
  • Valid driver’s license; able to pass background/drug testing for secure sites.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily JSA/THA and toolbox talk; enforce PPE, LOTO, hot work, and lift/rigging procedures.
  • Follow OSHA 1910/1926 and ASME B30 requirements; exercise stop-work authority.
  • Maintain site-specific controls for GMP/cleanroom and data halls (gowning, contamination control, tool accountability, ESD awareness, FM200/clean agent spaces).
  • Execute work per MOP/SOP/EOP when applicable.
  • Build the daily plan and 3–5 day look-ahead with the superintendent; request manpower/gear early.
  • Assist in developing rigging/lift plans (forklifts, Versa-Lift, gantries, jacks, skates, pick points); verify routes, ground bearing, clearances.
  • Read drawings/specs; confirm dimensions, anchor layouts, elevations; mark pick paths and set points.
  • Schedule deliveries, trucking, crane support; coordinate with GC/MEP/controls.
  • Lead safe execution of: uncrate, move-in, set-in-place, bolt/anchor, grout, precision level/align, and equipment protection.
  • Use and direct operation of forklifts/telehandlers, Versa-Lift class lifts, gantries, toe/locknut jacks, tuggers, skates, spreader bars, slings, and rigging hardware.
  • Verify torque/leveling records, tolerances, and hold points; collect sign-offs for FAT/SAT support when required.
  • Protect scope and margin: flag conflicts, RFIs, and changes immediately to superintendent/PM.
  • Complete daily reports, photos, JSA sheets, timecards, delivery tickets, crane/truck dockets, and redlines.
  • Assign tasks by skill; coach safe techniques and rigging math; hold standards on housekeeping and tool care.
  • Provide clear production updates to superintendent and professional communication with GC/owner.
