About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Foreclosure Specialist to join our team. The Foreclosure Specialist will be responsible for managing the end-to-end foreclosure process, from initiation to completion, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. This role involves coordinating activities with internal teams, legal professionals, and external vendors to facilitate the efficient and lawful completion of foreclosure proceedings.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of foreclosure laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to provide excellent organizational, time-management and problem solving.
  • Persuasive communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with persistence.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 years prior experience in foreclosure management within the mortgage industry.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the foreclosure process for assigned residential real estate loans with the goal of minimizing loss and risk to the organization.
  • Responds to inquiries and concerns regarding the foreclosure process, maintains records of notices or filings, calculates reinstatement or payoff figures, and updates loan account information with modified balance information.
  • Gathers loan or account information to be used in court proceedings or shared with attorneys, agencies, or other lien holders. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations and guidelines, including HUD servicing guidelines.
  • Prepare and review legal documents related to foreclosure, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Coordinate with legal professionals to address any legal challenges that may arise during the foreclosure process.
  • Communicate with legal representatives and internal teams to provide updates on the status of foreclosure proceedings.
  • Collaborate with property preservation teams, title specialists, and other relevant departments to streamline processes and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Work closely with external vendors to facilitate property inspections, appraisals, and other foreclosure-related activities.
  • Monitor and manage timelines for foreclosure activities to ensure timely and efficient completion.
  • Implement strategies to expedite the foreclosure process when necessary.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy and compliance in all foreclosure-related documentation.
  • Conduct audits to verify the completeness and correctness of foreclosure files.
  • Regular, reliable and predictable onsite attendance is an essential function of this role.
  • Other duties as assigned.
