About The Position

Workload includes managing the product development process using key milestone metrics and resolving cross-functional issues. Deliver vehicle program engineering and financial milestones on time with quality. Deliver vehicle program financial status for engineering, vendor & facilities tooling and cost. Deliver vehicle program supplier sourcing for all new tooled end items, both Ford Racing-led and core Ford Engineering-led, on time and matching vehicle program targets. Deliver production designs that match the vehicle program's theme and appearance. Deliver a product that meets the established vehicle program marketing targets. Support delivery of the vehicle program attribute targets. Lead the establishment of optimal assumptions for the customer to vehicle interface, including selection of interior components, HMI, features, and services. Deliver the prototype build and the production vehicle launch to standard, meeting the high quality expected by the enthusiast customer. Make fact-based decisions with cross-functional team support in a timely manner to maintain program objectives. Take the lead in the resolution of difficult cross-functional issues to maintain program objectives. Manage a team of program management analysts and function program management engineers to deliver the overall vehicle program via prioritization of critical path tasks. Support transfer of technology and methods from vehicle production program to Competition Vehicle and Ford Racing Competition Vehicles to Production Vehicles. Deliver technical project presentations to senior management, including results and accomplishments, conclusions and recommendations, and lessons learned. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering
  • 10 years of experience in Automotive OEM.
  • 5 years of experience in either Vehicle Engineering or Program Management
  • Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams.
  • Knowledge of the Automotive full vehicle product concept to the plant build process.
  • Working understanding of problem-solving skills, for example, ( failure mode and effects analysis, causes, severity, detection methods, and statistical methods)
  • Ability to develop clear working-level documents and management presentations, as well as clear/concise communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage several unique tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to both Ford and supplier locations, domestic and international.

Nice To Haves

  • Engineering MS or MBA equivalent degree or higher
  • Prior experience as a Chief or Assistant Program Engineer
  • Automotive plant experience, either from launching vehicles or working in a plant engineering team.
