Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • 5+ years of Body Interior Design & Release experience
  • Understanding of GPDS deliverables and basic Ford engineering tools (FEDEBOM / WERS / Bill of Material / AIMS / 5/8Ds / FEDE DVP / Engineering Sign Off / DFMEA / Six Sigma)
  • Experience launching new vehicles
  • Ability to handle complex tasks and challenging situations under compressed timing
  • Experience communicating with senior leaders, studio, marketing and suppliers
  • Outstanding planning, organizational and project management skills with proper follow-up to accomplish multiple objectives
  • Strong Ford OS Behaviors with demonstrated ability to drive and deliver results
  • Effective coaching and mentoring skills
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to make technical and business decisions, including appropriate trade-offs
  • Ability to build strong effective relationships with cross functional teams (Program, Studio, Purchasing, Core Body Engineering, VE, VI, VO)

  • Pre-Program and Pre-<PS> experience is desirable

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Body Interior design, development, engineering, validation, and certification on a subset of Ford Racing Production vehicles
  • Lead the total Body Interior system integration and program delivery of Quality, Cost, Weight, Function and Timing (QCWFT)
  • Lead FSS (Full Service Suppliers) and/or other internal/external resources to deliver subject programs
  • Lead development of component & system designs that support vehicle performance targets (key systems includes seating, steering wheels, trim (plastics, soft cloth)
  • Assure conformance to the Ford Racing DNA all applicable Ford & regulatory requirements
  • Develop innovative solutions for performance vehicles
  • Develop cost targets that are compatible & aligned with program level targets
  • Determine resources required to deliver projects
  • Support supplier sourcing processes
  • Manage deliverables to support program & engineering GPDS milestones FEDE BOM / WERS / Bill of Material / AIMS / 5/8Ds / FEDE DVP / Engineering Sign Off
  • Interface and maintain collaborative relationship with Core Body Exterior Engineering Organization
