Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Experience Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient food and beverage operation. Maintain a positive attitude and appearance at all times. Responsible for overseeing daily Sharky’s Café processes, and leading 1 to 8 team members. Help Food and Beverage Management Team develop and monitor a highly motivated, positive, and productive team. Assist in evaluations and training of all Food and Beverage team members. Help implement new policies and procedures when needed. Maintaining accurate record keeping involving team members, including Newport Aquarium awards and recognitions. Handle comments, concerns and suggestions from fellow employees and guests regarding the guest experience. Maintain knowledge of activities, aquatic life, and Newport Aquarium special events/promotions in order to properly notify and inform guests. Must be self-motivated to work independently, as well as, disciplined and reliable. Keep safety as a number one priority at all times while working at Newport Aquarium. Work with other team members/departments of Newport Aquarium to ensure effective communication is implemented at all times. Perform opening and closing duties as needed. Ability and willingness to cross train in other food and beverage areas. Responsible for maintaining Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance. On a daily basis ensure that: Participates in the basic functions of the foods department including, guest transactions, food preparation, and dining room/café cleaning. Maintain inventory and ensure items are in stock. Maintaining proper break schedule for team members as prescribed in team member handbook. Perform other related duties or tasks as assigned by the Merchandise Management Team.
