About The Position
Southeastern Virginia Training Center is seeking a dedicated and reliable Food Service Technician I – Driver/Trayline to join our Food Services team. This role is essential to supporting the health and well-being of adults with intellectual disabilities. At Southeastern Virginia Training Center (SEVTC) we serve citizens with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are an intermediate care facility operated by the Department of Behavioral health and Developmental Services (DBHDS) where we support individuals in state-of-the-art homes with accommodations unique to their specific needs. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Active, valid driver’s license required
- Basic knowledge of food safety
- Must be aware of BOH regulations and can adhere to them.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in residential food service work, food consistencies, or diet requirements
Responsibilities
- Drive a delivery truck to and from residential homes in all weather conditions
- Load and unload food carts and deliver to homes safely and accurately
- Push carts into homes and connect them to re-therm units
- Ensure proper placement of hot and cold items in carts prior to delivery
- Wash dishes, lids, and trays according to Back of House (BOH) standards
- Assemble/disassemble the dishwasher and clean food service equipment
- Set up trays with condiments and prepare supplemental food orders
- Ensure food is served at appropriate temperatures
- Clean and sanitize food carts, dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
- Maintain cleanliness of food service areas including scrubbing floors and tables
