The Food Services team serves to assist with the successful operation of the Food Services Ministry while supporting the team members, guests, volunteers and local community through Christ-filled love and respect. The Food Services Associate will clean the dishes after the meals, assist with cleanup of the kitchen/dining room, and assist with prepping for meals as needed. Hours of Availability: 6:00am to 2:00pm and 3:30pm - 7:30pm shifts; Days may vary. Status: Casual - up to 20 hours per week Compensation: $15.00 Our Team Members should exhibit the following: · Possess a sincere love of Christ and maintain a Christian walk that is evident of that love. Individual must be willing to adhere to Rescue Mission of Roanoke’s Code of Ethics. · Demonstrates a genuine interest in the safety and well-being of our guests and team members. · Understanding of volunteer engagement and ability to utilize and appreciate volunteers in daily tasks. · Strong work ethic and commitment to work as scheduled to include holidays and weekends as assigned. · Strong listening, as well as written & verbal communication skills to execute instructions, keep others informed and exhibit professionalism. · Demonstrated attention to detail/strong organizational skills to assist with multiple daily assignments and special projects. · Ambitious to exceed expectations. Career Summary: Although the main function of this role is dishwashing, we serve in a variety of supportive roles to provide seamless processes for providing meals to our guests and the local community. Includes line plan, prepare and cook food items to ensure the highest quality service and experience. Volunteer coordinator, serve meals and ensure the kitchen, pantry and dining room are clean, safe and secure for each meal. Maintains the freezer and assist in planning and organizing special events. All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. Expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.
