Food Services Assistant (As-Needed)
About The Position
This role fills in as Food Services Assistant (As-Needed) due to planned or unplanned time off and position vacancies. Under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager and Food Services Coordinator, this position is responsible for providing direct assistance with daily operations of the Nutrition Services Program. Assists with the preparation of various foods including washing, peeling, and chopping. Ensures the kitchen is kept clean and orderly by performing such tasks as cleaning and sanitizing work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware. Assists with the preparation and serving of meals to older adult residents in the café and home delivered meal recipients of Hanover Township that meet required nutritional guidelines. Aids in ensuring meal quality, freshness, and safety. Performs other duties as required for the successful operation of the Department of Aging Services Nutrition Program. The non-exempt position has a pay rate of $17.00 per hour The position hours vary: Shift 1--7:30am-1:00pm and Shift 2--8:00am-1:30pm
Requirements
- One year of experience in food services related work preferred
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with older adults and familiarity of the Hanover Township area are preferred
