About The Position

The food service worker is responsible for the overall preparation and distribution of food items within the center. The hours are 6:30am-3:00pm Monday through Friday.

Requirements

• Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 1 year of experience in food service industry, specifically food preparation or cooking.
• Must possess or obtain required state and federal clearances.
• Sneakers or similar slip-resistant footwear are required.
• Proper attendance is required. Employees are expected to arrive on time, every day, able and available to work.
• Travel may be required in Erie County

Responsibilities

• Prepare and distribute the established menu of food items to each classroom. This includes breakfast, lunch and snack.
• Maintain appropriate health and safety standards in the kitchen at all times.
• Clean and disinfect all food preparation and food service areas on a daily basis. Wash and disinfect all dishes, utensils, bottles, etc.
• Restock all dishes, utensils, bottles and snacks in the classrooms, as well as monitoring inventory.
• Be knowledgeable of any allergies within the center and make appropriate meal accommodations or substitutions.
• Occasionally assist in classrooms, answer the phones, watch and answer the door, and allow time for other employees to take a break.
