Day in the Life of a Mess Attendant/Food Service Worker at CW Resources: Start your shift by setting up your work area, gathering supplies, and preparing the dish station. Collect, sort, and rinse dirty dishes from the dining and service areas. Run dishes through the commercial dish machine and handâwash pots and pans that need extra cleaning. Sanitize and put away clean dishes so they’re ready for the next meal. Keep the galley clean by sweeping, mopping, wiping surfaces, and removing food scraps throughout the shift. Empty trash and recycling, replace liners, and follow proper disposal procedures. Reset the dining area between meals by wiping tables, refilling condiments, and restocking napkins and supplies. Assist with mealâservice setup by stocking trays, utensils, cups, and other serving items. Follow supervisor instructions to maintain military sanitation and safety standards. Work with your team during busy meal times to keep service running smoothly. End your shift by completing final cleaning tasks, putting away supplies, checking out with your supervisor, and leaving the area ready for the next crew.
