Requirements

  • Ability to attend to more than one aspect of a situation simultaneously.
  • Efficiency in processing of verbal information, either in written or spoken form is a major requirement and prerequisite of the job.
  • Some independent thought, planning or origination of options and solutions is necessary.
  • Ability to apply principles of reasoning and problem solving to resolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • Food Service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and cooks foods for patients, employees and catering functions, including measuring and mixing ingredients, adjusting thermostats, monitoring food at all levels, etc.
  • Participates in the assembly and service of patient and non-patient meals, including stocking and serving the patient tray lines, taking food temperatures, preparing and serving in cafeteria and special functions, etc.
  • Cleans and sanitizes dishes and pots.
  • Operates and maintains cash register. Ensures that register skips balance.
  • Sets up and replenishes salad bar. Maintains cleanliness for cafeteria.
  • Provides patient service related clerical duties.
  • Assists in cleaning and maintaining equipment and work areas.
  • Verbalizes the specific ages of patients served within the Hospital and can make application when necessary.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
