About The Position

The Food Service Staff assists in the preparation of all meals, including setting up the breakfast and/or salad bars, and plating meal components. They also clean dishes, assist in cleaning the kitchen, and prepare the dining hall for each meal, in accordance with all ACA and Iowa Public Health safety requirements.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Member of GSUSA or willingness to become so.
Belief in the mission of GSUSA and GSGI.
Good organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of the kitchen and equipment needed for cooking.
Familiar with food preparation.
Must have reliable transportation
Must be authorized to work without visa sponsorship

Responsibilities

Assists in preparation of all meals.
Assists with preparation of special diet foods, taking measures to reduce the risk of cross-contamination.
Ensures kitchen is in accordance with ACA and Iowa Health Department standards.
Maintains proper cleaning and storage of all dishes.
Cleans the kitchen bathroom.
Assists in properly putting away food deliveries, ensuring first-in-first-out rotation of products, and maintaining organization.
Assists in opening and closing the kitchen during summer season.
Assists campers with the set up for each meal.
Assists in setting up and filling the breakfast and/or salad bar.
Participates in camp-wide activities including campfire programs, flag ceremonies, workshops, and evening programs as available.
Performs other duties as assigned.
