About The Position

primary Job Function: Deliver profitable sales volume growth with concentration on food service sales. Develop strong relationships across all areas of responsibility and all channels of assigned market. Market includes all restaurant types, all healthcare, and education channels. Professionally represent the Calise & Sons Bakery while visiting developed and undeveloped food service outlets in assigned territory. Successful candidate will develop contacts with regional executives of FS companies where business growth opportunities exist and will work closely with operations management to insure products, pricing and service compliance and execution of programs. Position will call directly on buyers and key decision makers in major FS accounts determined by VP of Sales.

Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree is preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years account management or sales calling responsibilities and business development experience can be substituted for higher education requirements. Experience must be industry specific.
  • Industry specific knowledge – must have direct working experience in food service business, advanced knowledge of bakery sales, and direct experience communicating with and presenting to decision makers.
  • General business knowledge – must have working knowledge of business growth strategies and profitability.
  • Job related knowledge – Experience calling on established and emerging restaurant chain, education, healthcare and contract management firms is a must.
  • Must have effective skills in selling, negotiation, leadership through example, decision making , communication (written and oral), and enthusiasm for the position
  • Leadership experience – must have effective skills in time management, motivating customers, teamwork, follow through, and coaching and mentoring.
  • Written and oral communication skills – must have above average skills and knowledge of basic computer programs (Excel, Power Point, Word) ,have the ability to meet deadlines, and have solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work planning, organization, and execution – Must be a self starter. Must be effective at planning and organizing.
  • Physical capabilities – must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including lifting (min. 25 lbs.)

Responsibilities

  • Professionally represent Calise Bakery in assigned marketing territory.
  • Identify new revenue producing streams in existing or new accounts.
  • Produce double digit % of growth in assigned territory.
  • Develop executive, buying, and field level contacts with key decision makers in FS companies in assigned territory.
  • Maintain regular schedule weekly of cold calling and appointments.
  • Search out and develop new revenue streams.
  • Ensure Company marketing and new product initiatives are on target in area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for reviewing and executing all bids prior to submission.
  • Support depot management to secure accounts, set up new business, insure retention.
  • Support retail account sector where needed.
  • Communicate with Sales Operations Director on a regular and routine basis.
