The Food Services Representative (FSR) is primarily a hospitality role responsible for all aspects of service to patients. This includes retrieving meal selections, checking patient trays for accuracy, delivering meals, assisting patients with meal setup, ensuring patient satisfaction, and stocking and maintaining unit pantries. Essential requirements for this position include a pleasant personality, showing kindness and respect for patients, and providing extraordinary services at all times. The FSR must be able to read, understand, and follow directions, diet orders, tray cards, and work assignments. The role involves performing routine, repetitive tasks with frequent interruptions. Numerical ability is necessary for recipe preparation and proper measuring of cleaning agents and chemicals. Good motor coordination and manual dexterity are required for tasks such as preparing food items, serving trays, handling soiled dishes, operating dietary equipment, and cleaning work areas. The FSR must be able and willing to work flexible hours, including during emergency situations, and maintain patience and tolerance toward guests, staff, patients, and family members at all times.
