About The Position

The Food Service Manager is responsible for overseeing all food service operations within the convenience store. This role involves supervising food preparation and kitchen operations, ordering and managing inventory for food items, ensuring food safety compliance, training new food service staff, and assisting customers at the register as needed. The Food Service Manager plays a vital role in maintaining high standards of quality, cleanliness, and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ year experience in food service, cooking, or kitchen supervision.
  • Working knowledge of food safety practices and health regulations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Previous experience in a convenience store or retail environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the kitchen and food service area.
  • Ensure proper food preparation and safety practices are followed.
  • Monitor food freshness, quality, and rotation to ensure compliance with health standards.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of all food preparation and storage areas.
  • Order food products and supplies, manage kitchen inventory, and track usage.
  • Receive, verify, and process vendor deliveries related to food service.
  • Plan displays and promotions for food products as appropriate.
  • Provide courteous, enthusiastic service to every customer.
  • Assist customers with food orders, product questions, and concerns.
  • Set a positive example for service and hospitality for the food service team.
  • Support cashiers during busy periods or staff shortages.
  • Train and provide direction to food service staff with a focus on safety and service.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees in food handling and customer service standards.
  • Operate the cash register, process payments, and issue receipts.
  • Assist customers at the counter as needed.
  • Help maintain product displays and a clean retail environment.
  • Monitor for loss prevention and report concerns to the Store Manager.
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify hazards and seek assistance when unsafe conditions are present.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Store Manager.
