About The Position

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium has been educating, inspiring, and providing enjoyment to our community for over 100 years. The Food Services team is currently seeking a Part-Time Food Service Leader for its front of the house (FOH) operations. This is a PT non-exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act. Under limited supervision, this role involves leading and coordinating the activities and operations of food service areas, including the supervision of Food Service Associates in food preparation. The position also includes assisting in staff training and motivation, developing training and recognition programs, and leading the setup and execution of daily and future events. Responsibilities extend to preparing necessary equipment, completing event paperwork, monitoring inventory needs, and ensuring all sanitation standards are exceeded.

Requirements

Must be 18+ years of age
Must be able to take direction, work independently and multi-task
Must have the physical ability to work on your feet and be outdoors for several hours at a time
Must adhere to the Toledo Zoo's drug-free workplace policy, including marijuana
Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to be insured through Zoo fleet carrier

Nice To Haves

1-2 years of experience in food service supervision or an equivalent combination of culinary training and experience which provides the required skills, knowledge and abilities
Certification in food service sanitation
Strong customer service and communication skills
