About The Position

The Food Service Worker Lead of the department, closely supervised by the Food Service Supervisors and Patient Service Manager, is responsible for assisting in creating a team-oriented atmosphere by ensuring equal and productive participation among team members. This role involves overseeing various aspects of food service operations, including meal preparation, patient tray service, inventory management, cash register operation, and maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards. The Lead also provides on-the-job training to new employees and ensures adherence to departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Intermediate Knowledge of basic food safety and hygiene practices
  • Working Knowledge of food preparation equipment and kitchen utensils

Responsibilities

  • Restock the line according to the tally sheet for the next meal.
  • Separate and track tickets to be placed on the patient trays during meal service.
  • Production of items according to the daily menus.
  • Filling floor stock requests, delivery of these items using FIFO method and maintaining cleanliness of refrigerators.
  • Able to operate the cash register.
  • Maintaining food safety standards by monitoring temperatures for cold food on the line.
  • Able to work independently and complete assigned tasks
  • Adhere to standards set by the department for sanitation of all equipment and food contact surfaces.
  • Adhere to standards set by the department for food storage, handling and portioning of all foods.
  • Accomplish the day’s tasks as set forth by the position policies and procedures.
  • Provide “on the job” training to inexperienced employees.
