About The Position

The position of Kitchen Helper/Server assists with the preparation and distribution of food items for consumption by students and school personnel; maintaining kitchen facility in a sanitary condition.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Must possess current Food Handler’s Card or have the ability to obtain required.
  • Experience with the use of a computer.
  • Ability to work successfully with students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions and adapt to changing situations.
  • Maintains an attitude of flexibility when dealing with teammates, students and building staff.
  • Ability to meet and maintain punctuality and attendance expectations.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years of food preparation experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of State Health Food Regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the responsibility for the security of foods and supplies, along with checking that all equipment is in working condition and notifies the appropriate authority when repairs are needed.
  • Prepares and delivers fresh fruit and vegetable snacks to students.
  • Assists planning, preparation, and serving of food.
  • Assists and follows all current sanitation and food safety standards and regulations; maintaining neat, clean, safe and sanitized food service areas.
  • Assist with the supervision of student meal service to ensure that all regulatory requirements are met.
  • Assists with making sure meals are served on time and never delayed due to incomplete preparation activities.
  • Assists with the inventory of all foods, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assists with receiving all deliveries, checking all invoices, receipts.
  • Attend in service and/or safety meetings as required.
  • Other job duties as assigned by the Head Cook and/or Principal.
