About The Position

Food Services - Front of House - Assistant Manager Overview: Oversee the daily operations of the FOH and provide professional leadership and direction to FOH personnel. Ensure that all recipes, food preparations and presentations meet Food Services Standard specifications and commitment to quality. Maintain a safe, orderly and sanitary FOH. Utilize, train and model for staff proper food-handling techniques. Ensure that food service operations are consistent with co-op mission. Status : $25/hour, Non-Exempt, Full-time, Hourly - Weekends Required Supervisor : FoH Manager

Responsibilities

  • Front of House Work shifts with FOH team to prepare drinks and food to order
  • Ensure that menu and portion guidelines are followed
  • oversee proper stocking, rotation, and dating of FoH items to ensure freshness
  • serve food in a prompt, friendly courteous manner
  • Ensure that deli cases are stocked fully to give feeling of abundance
  • Ensure that all product is in sellable condition and meets quality standards
  • Take responsibility for knowing the menu and understanding how it tastes, how it looks, how it travels, and what accompaniments are required
  • Ensure that all items are accurately labeled with price and ingredients
  • Smile and greet everyone you encounter
  • Offers product samples and suggestions for purchase in a friendly courteous manner
  • Report customer suggestions, comments, and complaints to appropriate Manager
  • Maintain awareness of customers and co-workers throughout the department to ensure premium customer service
  • Maintain counter, deli and self-service cases and prep areas in sanitary and orderly condition following Ag’s and Markets regulations
  • Place orders in a timely manner to ensure adequate amounts of ingredients and food preparation supplies are on-hand
  • Monitor FoH time and temperatures; advise Deli Manager of equipment repair and replacement needs
  • Participate in periodic inventories
  • Organize and daily huddles and regular staff meetings for kitchen employees
  • Keep on-the-job training in all areas for FOH staff
  • Communicate with FOH staff on all matters that pertain to job performance
  • Help Maintain highest level of sanitation, following Ag’s and Market guidelines
  • Update communication board as needed
  • Ensure that staff are following recipes for consistency in costing
  • Make suggestions to staff/team about ways to keep costs at a minimum
  • Ensure that unsalable items are culled through a manager or disposed of properly
  • Organize and maintain kitchen and equipment in sanitary and orderly condition consistent with state and local regulations
  • Work with FOH manager to ensure accuracy of ingredients and supplies
  • Monitor time and temperature testing and recording of hot and cold items
  • Participate in periodic inventories
  • Promptly advise FSMT of equipment needs, perform minor repairs, and maintain equipment logs
