As our Cashier you will perform cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers. You will be maintaining all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times. Schedule: The schedule for this position is varied. Shifts range from 5:30am to 2:00pm up to 1:00pm to 9:30pm. Some weekends and holidays. Location: Banner Baywood Medical Center Banner Baywood Medical Center is a 342 bed hospital serving the health care needs of the dynamic and growing East Valley communities of metropolitan Phoenix, Arizona. We provide complete acute care services and outpatient services to include but not limited to cancer, stroke, women's health, rehabilitation, emergency medicine and surgery. Our Emergency Department treats a variety of ailments and offers advanced treatment areas, with 68 beds, seeing over 50,000 patients per year. We are certified as pediatric prepared as well as designated as a Trauma level 3 emergency room. In addition, our comprehensive orthopedic unit is one of the nation’s premier orthopedic programs. POSITION SUMMARY This position performs cashiering and customer service duties in retail areas to provide accurate revenue collection and to assist in providing high quality customer service to customers.

Requirements

This position requires effective interpersonal communication skills, a friendly customer service attitude and the ability to accurately calculate and count change rapidly and repetitively.
Good reading, writing and math skills.
Must be able to learn food handling regulations and pass certification tests as required.
Requires the ability to learn Point of Sale cash register system, beverage brewing and/or dispensing equipment and cleaning equipment.
For Banner Staffing Services (BSS) team members, the food handlers' card is required within 30 days of hire.
For BSS team members in Tucson and Colorado, the food handlers' card is not required.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Accurately records all sales in the Point of Sale System; transacts payments with customers.
Stores, counts, deposits and maintains register cash and receivables in accordance with the policies and procedures of the facility.
Maintains all assigned stations, keeping them clean, well-stocked, and attractive at all times.
Provides service to customers, meeting standards and guidelines. Responds to customer complaints and assists with problem resolution.
May perform cleaning, stocking, sign maintenance and other duties as assigned.
This position is in contact with patients, other food service department personnel, hospital staff, visitors and families. This position must have excellent customer service skills and be able to resolve customer issues at the point of contact.
