About The Position

This position is for a Food Service Cashier at Texas Health Arlington Memorial, located at 800 West Randol Mill Rd., Arlington, TX 76012. It is a PRN (as needed) role with shifts between 6:00am to 2:30pm or 12:00pm to 8:30pm. The department is described as a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a focus on exceptional customer service, a diverse team centered on customer service, and one with top-tier retention that celebrates employees. Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital is a 369-bed, acute-care, full-service hospital serving communities since 1958, specializing in comprehensive medical/surgical care, cancer care, women’s services, behavioral health, neurosciences, and emergency medicine. It is a Level III neonatal intensive care unit, Level III Maternal Newborn care unit and a Level III Trauma Center, accredited by various bodies and recognized for high-quality patient care. Requirements

  • 1 Year relevant experience in customer service or as a cashier in a high-volume setting required.
  • FHC - Food Handlers Certificate 30 Days required.
  • Ability to handle cash in a high-volume environment.
  • Reading, basic math, written language in English.
  • Good communication and organizational skills to exercise independent judgment.
  • Must be discreet and courteous in handling visitors and employees.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 1 Year health care experience
  • Computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Familiar with menu and prices.
  • Operate computer-based register during meal service periods.
  • Responsible for accurate charges to each customer.
  • Demonstrate the ability to handle and count money in a high-volume situation.
  • Verify cash drawer amounts before and after meal periods.
  • Demonstrates customer skills and performs customer recovery, resolving customer issues at point of service.
  • Follow established standards for food safety and sanitation.
  • Follows standards for cleanliness and stocking within the assigned area.
  • Follows proper hand hygiene.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned by Supervisor/Manager.
