Food Service Associate (Summer Temp)
About The Position
This position involves a variety of tasks within the Nutrition & Food Service facilities, including slicing and preparing meats and cheeses, assembling various food items such as fruits, vegetables, salads, nourishments, tube feedings, gelatins, sandwiches, juices, and coffee. The associate will service patient meals, including delivering snacks, tube feedings, stocking and sanitizing floor kitchenettes, delivering and collecting patient trays. Additionally, the role includes servicing the cafeteria, covering all aspects of service areas like the grill and cashiering. Responsibilities also extend to working in the dish room, washing, rinsing, and sanitizing pots, pans, equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas, as well as removing trash, garbage, cardboard, milk, and bread crates. The associate will also deliver and pick up patient meal trays for Cape Psych Center, perform all duties in compliance with hospital, local, and regulatory standards, and provide service excellence reflecting Cape Cod Hospital’s commitment to CARES.
Requirements
- Ability to communicate in English to understand and respond to basic verbal and written English language instruction
- Operate the cash registers with ability to make change
Responsibilities
- Slices meats and cheeses
- Prepares and assembles foods including but not limited to fruits, salad type vegetables, salad mixes (veg. & meat), between meal nourishments, tube feedings, gelatins, salads, sandwiches, juices, coffee for the Nutrition & Food Service facilities
- Services patient meals including between meal snacks, tube feedings, floor kitchenette stock and sanitation, delivering patient meals, collecting patient trays from patient floors, preparing and assembling cold foods, assembling patient trays and hot and cold beverages
- Services the cafeteria including all aspects of the service areas including grill and cashiering
- Works in the dish room
- Washes, rinses and sanitizes pots and pans, equipment, floors, walls, and storage areas
- Removal of trash, garbage, cardboard, milk & bread crates
- Delivers and picks up patient meal trays for Cape Psych Center
- Performs all duties in compliance with hospital, local and regulatory standards
- Performs other work related duties and activities as assigned or requested
