About The Position

The GATE Store Food Service Associate is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, performing routine food preparation, and assisting customers. This role involves collaboration with the Store Kitchen Manager and Store Manager to manage store operations and inventory, assisting customers with product information, and operating food production equipment. Key duties include stocking shelves and coolers, maintaining a high level of store cleanliness and organization, performing minor equipment maintenance, and processing payments at the register. The Food Service Associate also helps train team members on food preparation, customer service, and kitchen safety. The position requires adherence to a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and split shifts, and strict compliance with GATE's uniform and appearance standards. The associate must attend all required training and meetings, prioritize customer satisfaction, and handle all customer interactions and payments professionally. Maintaining Food Safety Certification is essential, as is ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the facility, including restrooms, floors, and kitchen areas. The role involves following all food safety regulations, proper ingredient storage and rotation, preparing made-to-order food items according to recipes, accommodating customizations, and ensuring proper portion control and presentation. Additional tasks may be assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Successfully complete a pre-employment drug screening and background check.

  • Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend the English language at a level sufficient to communicate effectively with customers and team members.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals for food service equipment.

  • Ensure food quality and maintain commercial kitchen cleanliness, including sanitizing surfaces, properly storing ingredients, and following hygiene protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entire facility (restrooms, floors, windows, storage rooms, pumps, trash cans, light bulbs, towel dispensers, register paper/ink).
  • Follow all food safety regulations, including proper food handling, storage, and temperature control.
  • Properly store and rotate ingredients to minimize waste and ensure freshness.
  • Prepare made-to-order food items according to the set menu, following standard recipes and portion guidelines.
  • Accommodate customer requests for menu customizations while maintaining food quality and consistency.
  • Provide friendly and efficient service, assisting customers with menu choices and answering questions about ingredients and preparation methods.
  • Ensure proper portion control and presentation of all food items.
  • Perform any additional tasks requested or assigned by the Kitchen and Store Managers.
